In watching the development of the Comprehensive “Illegal ” Immigration Bill in the Senate S.1348, it has become abundantly clear that we, the citizens of the United States of America, are no longer part of a representative government. These elected officials have decided to give in to the powers that be from both the right and the left. On the right, is the President, his relationship with Mexico, the Chamber of Commerce’s and big business who want cheap labor and open borders. They have bought in to a North American Union which would abdicate the sovereignty of the United States for monitary gain for themselves. On the left are those who want to import a permanent underclass of people who will become Democratic voters in the future if they offer welfare benefits. They want you to think they are compassionate. Does this sound like compassion? The Democrats passed a minimum wage increase because the current wage , it was decided was not a livable wage. Interestingly enough, they are willing to import a permanent underclass of people who will be paid less than minimum wage which ensures they will live in poverty. Is this compassion? Or is it organized slavery ? There is also another reason for increasing unskilled workers in this country. It is to eventually increase the union membership which has been decreasing for years. The power of unions has slipped and like every power monger they want to re-gain their powerful position to influence legislation.
The Senate is deciding they know better than we do about what will be good for this country. They have refused to listen to the grassroots voters who see the detrimental effect of this current bill to the pocketbook of the taxpayer and to this nation’s sovereignty. Why are the Senators giving a higher priority to illegal aliens than to those who will be required to pay the bill to the tune of trillions of dollars.
I refuse to give in to this power play of the President and his coalition of 12. It is time for each citizen to call their Senators daily until their will is broken and they are willing to listen to those who voted them into office. This cannot be a situation where you are unwilling to vote them out of office if they choose to ignore their constituencies. It is time they pay a price for ignoring the public who if they get their way will burden our children and grandchildren with untold trillions of dollars in taxes yearly. Who will join me in this battle?
