I am so tired of the rhetoric we are hearing from all the Presidential candidates regarding this Immigration bill S. 1348. We can’t round up the illegals and send them home. We need these workers because Americans won’t do the work they are willing to do. We can’t enforce the law against employers because they are not trained to determine whether the documents are fraudulent or not. Excuse after excuse by the Justice Dept. and the Immigration Dept. as to why they have not enforced the law since 1996.
Have these Presidential candidates forgotten that this is “King Country”? Don’t they realize that we are better educated on the subject of illegal immigration because we have a courageous Congressman who does the required due diligence to research a subject and come up with practical solutions? I have decided that the “King” standard is going to my standard for determining who will get my vote. If they don’t get serious about illegal immigration enforcement first and adopt Congressman King’s plan to solve the illegal immigration problem, they will not get my vote. I recommend all of us in Northwest Iowa do the same thing.
We have a treasure in Congressman King as our representative and I want to see more independent thinkers with courage in the highest offices of this nation. This nation was built upon “the rule of law” but the decision makers in Washington have found ways to skirt this basic tenet of our democracy. Yet, you or I could try to break the law and we will be strung up by our bootstraps and go immediately to jail. What is wrong with this picture?
Just one more thought on this subject? Remember when the Democrats decided that the current minimum wage was not a livable wage and so they had to increase it to $7 +? At the same time out of the other side of their mouths they justify bringing in millions of illegals who are illiterate in English and Spanish working for what they have already determined is not a livable wage. Who is going to foot the bill for the welfare benefits these illegal immigrants are going to need by the Democrats own words, “working for what is not a livable wage”?
Join me in requiring the presidential candidate you are going to support pass the “King” test!!
